Our rooftop restaurant

It is a perfect place for spending romantic moments yet it is perfect for families too. The heavenly ambiance and delicious multi-cuisine rooftop restaurant attract people to come and spend time here. We can have a spectacular view of the village from the restaurant.

Indian cuisine is as vibrant as the country’s rich culture. Based substantially on locally available spices, herbs, vegetables, and fruits, Indian food is heavily influenced by history and traditions. Indian food is known for its spiciness. The most frequently used are chilly pepper, black mustard seed, cumin, turmeric, ginger, etc.

With our Italian dishes cooked by professional chefs, you will be feeling as if you are at an authentic Italian restaurant. Olive oil, vines, and wheat bread are the keys to an Italian kitchen.

Chinese cuisine emphasizes the integrity of color, fragrance, and taste in its food. Our chef tries to make dishes beautiful by coordinating their colors. Some dishes are plain while others can be very bright. A table of Chinese food looks very colorful and attractive.

We were absolutely charmed by our stay at Hotel Duktuk. The owner, Basit Ali, not only provided impeccable service but also acted as our personal tour guide, introducing us to the beauty and history of Turtuk. The food was a delightful surprise, especially the village style country chicken! An experience filled with authentic stories and surreal views of the Indo-Pak border through their telescope on the roof

The hospitality we received at Hotel Duktuk was exceptional, thanks to owner Basit Ali. His guided tour of Turtuk and storytelling about its history was an experience in itself. The home-cooked food, especially the village style chicken, added to the authenticity of our stay. We also had the chance to see the last Indian village and hear stories of the war, which was truly humbling.

He took us on a historical tour around Turtuk, sharing stories of the region and the war that were truly captivating. The home-cooked meals were delightful, with the village-style chicken being a standout dish. Viewing the Indian army base post and Pakistan from this vantage point added to this surreal journey. If you are wondering where you should stay just come here and don't regret. He even setup telescopes for border view of Pakistan bunkers. It was a surreal experience. Most humble & helpful owner Basit Ali and his patents, took good care of us during our 2 nights stay in Hotel Duktuk at Turtuk village in 1st week of April (off season). This property is surrounded by farm lands / open spaces which helping us to get 360' clear view of the spectacular mountains & Shyok river flowing from a distance. It's a very different and very scenic Balti countryside that we had never seen. Locals are friendly. Beautiful village trails, with blooming apricot trees all around - that won't fade in your mind in many years to come. Actual LOC at Thang village is only 4km away and is a must visit. You should include Turtuk in your itinerary and you need to stay here at least for 2 nights. Don't just stay in Hunder & visit Turtuk for few hrs. Spacious rooms & toilets were clean enough in Hotel Duktuk. Rooms are on 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor. All rooms offer nice views, specially rooms facing Shyok river. Panoramic view from the roof top is outstanding. We happened to be the only guests at that time. Quality & quantity & taste of home cooked food was good. We'll cherish warmth of their genuine hospitality. They are adding few more rooms and a restaurant on 2nd & 3rd floor - which are almost complete. This remote village of around 3k do not get govt provided electric supply between 11pm to 6am. Hotel Duktuk presently do not provide power backup. Running hot water and Wi-Fi were also not available during our stay. Basit said they are working on these. What we appreciate is that Basit did mention all these very clearly during our booking process. He didn't hide his present short comings and did his best… They always gladly provided hot water in buckets as & when required and provided hotspot from cell phone. Kudos to young gentleman & budding hotelier Basit Ali. They also mention that they will be providing room heaters in very near future. Till then we request them to provide at least two hot water bags per guests at night. This is undoubtedly the best hotel / homestay at reasonable price in Turtuk. Check out their website for contact details. We spent 13 days in Ladakh this time and definitely spent our best times in Turtuk / Hotel Duktuk. In Uleytokpo - another picturesque locale near Leh, we stayed in a very reputed resort (Ule Ethnic Resort), paid more than double still didn't get running hot water, room heaters, power back up & working wifi - as promised.
